Additional Inspector General Ali Hossain Fakir has been named the new inspector general of police (IGP) amid an administrative shake-up after the new government took office.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the decision in an order issued on Tuesday, bdnews24.com reports.
Ali had been serving as chief of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
