The month-long 'Amar Ekushey Grantha Melā 2019’ (Book Fair) is set to kick off in the capital's Bangla Academy premises and its adjoining Suhrawardy Udyan area on Friday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the book fair on the academy premises at 3:00 pm on the day.
The Bangla Academy made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday at its auditorium.
A record number of 499 organisations and publishers are participating in the extravaganza this year amid tight security measures.
Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Shirajee, Bangla Academy Director and Member Secretary of the fair committee Jalal Ahmed, attended the briefing, among others.
