Army Chief meets Chief Adviser Yunus at Jamuna

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Sunday paid a courtesy call on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Jamuna.

During the meeting, the Army Chief briefed him on the measures undertaken by the army to ensure overall security during the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, said a media release sent from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

He highlighted the army’s role in maintaining smooth operations at launch terminals, train stations, and bus stands, as well as ensuring uninterrupted vehicular movement on all major roads.

Moreover, he discussed efforts to mediate between industrial owners and workers to maintain harmony in the labor sector.

Waker also informed Muhammad Yunus about the army’s ongoing initiatives, including organizing Iftar and prayer gatherings at all cantonments in honor of those injured in the July uprising.

Furthermore, he outlined financial assistance programmes initiated by the Bangladesh Army for wounded fighters and the families of martyrs.

The Chief Adviser praised the army’s professionalism and contributions, providing necessary guidance for its future operations, and expressed confidence that the Bangladesh Army would continue to uphold sovereignty and security with dedication and professionalism.

The Army Chief extended early Eid greetings to the Chief Adviser at the conclusion of the meeting.
