Azizur Rahman Ripon elected chairman, Sirajul Islam executive director of FERB

M. Azizur Rahman Ripon has been elected as Chairman and Serajul Islam Siraj as executive director of the Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB) on Sunday.

The election was held following the biennial general meeting of the FERB at Bijoy Hall of Bidyut Bhaban in the city.

M Azizur Rahman has been working as the Special Correspondent of The Financial and as a Stringer with S&P Global Energy and Gas Outlook, while Siraj is the Chief Reporter of Barta24.com.

The election was held on Sunday at the Bijoy Hall of Bidyut Bhaban following the general meeting.

Other elected members of the nine-member Executive Committee are: Vice Chairman Hasan Azad, Senior Reporter of Dainik Kalbela; Director (Development & Finance) Fazle Rabbi, Special Correspondent of Charcha; Director (Research & Training) Abu Taher, Deputy Chief Reporter of Dainik Bonik Barta; Director (Data Bank) Sajib Ahmed, Senior Reporter of Kaler Kantho; Director (Entertainment & Welfare) Atikur Rahman Faisal, Senior Reporter of Ajker Patrika; Executive Members Jannatul Ferdousi Shova, Senior Reporter of Deshkal News, and Mahbub Rony, Senior Reporter of The Daily Ittefaq.

The election was conducted by former Director of the Public Relations Department of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Saiful Hasan Chowdhury as the chief election commissioner.

The Election Commissioners were Shamim Hasan, Director of BPDB’s Public Relations Department, and Tarikul Islam Khan, Deputy General Manager of Petrobangla.

Prior to the election, the biennial meeting was held with FERB chairman Shamim Jahangir in the chair.
