Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has condemned the terror attack at Amarnath in Anantnag district of Kashmir that killed seven pilgrims and injured many others.

In a condolence message sent to her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Tuesday she said, "I am deeply shocked to learn about the dastardly terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims to Amarnath in Jammu and Kashmir."

"On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families. We also pray for early recovery of the injured pilgrims," she said.

She mentioned that Bangladesh maintains 'zero tolerance' policy against terrorism and violent extremism in all forms and manifestations, and condemns such heinous acts.

"As a close friend and neighbour, we would continue to work together in our common endeavour to eradicate this menace from this region and beyond," she said.
