Police have arrested Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Shafiqur Rahman, his wife, and two others in a case over the abuse of a child domestic worker.
The arrests were made late Sunday night in Uttara, police said, bdnews24.com reports.
On Monday, the investigation officer sought their detention in jail after producing them in court.
Prosecution police Sub-Inspector Tahmina Akter said a hearing on their bail would be held at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ehsanul Islam.
Uttara West Police Chief Rafique Ahmed said, “An 11-year-old child domestic worker has been brutally abused. A case has been filed over the incident.
“In that case, Shafiqur, his wife Bithi, and two other domestic workers of the household were arrested around 3:30am last night.”
