At least 50 people have been injured in clash, a sequel to a row between two groups, in Lakhaichhara Upazila under Habiganj district.
The incident occurred at East Tegharia village around 11am on Tuesday, Lakhaichhara police said.
Police have yet to identify the injured, but said two of them were admitted to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Abdul Majid, native of Tegharia village had an altercation with Taher Mia from the same village around 11am on Tuesday over a “trifling matter”, police said quoting locals.
As the altercation escalated, supporters of both groups, wielding local weapons, engaged in a fight that continued for an hour.
