The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours commencing 9:00 am on Saturday.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," it said.
A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur, Bandarban, Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira, Jashore, Chuadanga and Patuakhali, and it may abate in some places.
The country's highest temperature, 37.0 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Rajshahi, Ramgati of Lakshmipur and Mongla of Khulna districts on Friday.
Daytime temperature may fall slightly, and nighttime temperature may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
