A man was hacked to death allegedly by his sons at Hazaribagh in the capital on Tuesday over land related dispute.

The deceased was identified as Lal Miah, 50, a resident of Daskhshin Basila of Hazaribagh.

Victim’s younger brother said there had been a dispute between Lal Miah and his wife Arjudar over land. They got separated seven months ago over the dispute and his wife lived with their sons.

Arjudar along with her three sons—Joy Islam, 25, Sayedul, 24 and Milon, 20-- came to Lal Miah’s flat in the afternoon and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

"When I went inside hearing my brother's scream, I found him lying in a pool of blood," the victim's sibling said.

Lal Miah was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said Inspector Bacchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.

The body was kept in the morgue for an autopsy, he said adding that the concerned police station has been informed, reports UNB.
