Police have shown arrested The Daily Sangram editor Abul Asad in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Anisur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Tejgaon division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed this, UNB reports.

Dhaka city ward no 36 Muktijoddha commander Afzal Hossain filed the case.

Police have reportedly filed a five-day remand prayer with the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, which is likely to be heard this afternoon.

Earlier on Friday night, police took the Sangram editor in custody as the office of the Jamaat-e-Islami mouthpiece in Dhaka city's Boro Moghbazar came under a mob attack over running a report the same day that termed executed war criminal Abdul Quader Molla a 'martyr'.

Quoting staff of the Bangla-language daily, local media have reported that Muktijuddho Mancha launched the attack, which the Mancha denied.
