DMP arrests 425 in 24 hours, files 57 cases

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 425 people in the capital in the 24 hours till 6:00am on Friday as part of its routine operations.

During the period, 57 cases were filed, said DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Niaz Mehedi.

Of the total arrests, 39 were made by Ramna Division, 24 by Lalbagh, 61 by Wari, 57 by Motijheel, 56 by Tejgaon, 88 by Mirpur, 55 by Gulshan, 43 by Uttara and two by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, police also recovered over 1 kg of marijuana, 6,025 Yaba tablets, 3 grams of heroin, a human hauler, nine mobile phones, a dice board, Tk 610 in cash, and some locally made weapons from the arrestees.

One victim was also rescued during the period.
