DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon on Sunday inaugurated a 'Special Crash Programme' in a bid to curb the worsening dust pollution in the capital.

Under the initiative, a total of nine cars will spray water on the primary roads of the city corporation, says a DSCC press statement.

During the inaugural session mayor Khokon said, "The DSCC has always been working against dust pollution. There are also some directives from the court. Though, the main responsibility lies with the Department of Environment, we launched this campaign thinking of the city dwellers."

The water spraying programme will be carried out every day in two shifts - from 6:00 to 8:30am and from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.
