Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad will fly for Singapore Monday night for medical check-up.
The former president is scheduled to leave Dhaka for Singapore in a flight around 10:45pm from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, reports UNB.
Jatiya Party presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu and Ershad's APS Manjurul Islam are also going to Singapore.
A party press release said Ershad will return home soon after receiving treatment there.
On Saturday, Ershad appointed Jatiya Party's presidium member Ruhul Amin Hawlader as his special assistant to discharge all the organisational responsibilities of the party chairman in his absence.
The new development came just four days after Hawlader was removed from the party's secretary general post.
On December 3, Ershad made party presidium member Moshiur Rahman Ranga its secretary general removing Ruhul Amin Hawlader from the post.
Ranga, also the State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperatives, is discharging the duty of party secretary general alongside its presidium member as his additional charge.
