The first Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Saturday.

Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram, Maulana Mizanur Rahman, led the first jamaat at 7:00 am.

Later, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of Bangladesh and welfare of the people as well as the Muslim Ummah.

Devotees gathered for the service from different parts of the capital around 6:00 am, wearing pyjama pants and Punjabi kurtas, with skullcaps on their heads, and scented attar on their bodies. Children accompanied their parents and guardians.

Heavy security measures were in place around the Eid prayer service. Security archways were set up at each gate.

After the prayers began the traditional Eid Day embraces. Many people captured the memories of these moments on their phones.

As in previous years, a total of five Eid congregations have been scheduled at the national mosque. The subsequent jamaats are being held at 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am, and 10:45am.
