Workers of a garment factory staged demonstrations at Bhannara of Kaliakoir upazila in Gazipur on Thursday morning, protesting their retrenchment.
Workers of Deiyu Fashion Limited gathered in front of the factory gate in the morning and staged demonstrations.
According to the workers, after paying salary of March on April 16, the authorities closed the factory till May and also took signature in termination letter from several workers forcibly.
Besides, more than 400 workers were informed over phone about their termination.
On information, inspector Rezaul Karim of Gazipur industrial police-2 visited the spot and brought the situation under control, reports UNB.
