Google Doodle celebrates Bangladesh’s 56th Independence Day

Google has marked Bangladesh’s 56th Independence and National Day with a special doodle on its homepage, celebrating the country’s historic milestone.

The customised artwork features the national flag of Bangladesh waving against a bright sky, replacing the search engine’s regular logo for the day. Alongside the doodle, Google extended its wishes, saying: “Happy Independence Day, Bangladesh!”

Google frequently commemorates significant global events, national days, and notable figures by altering its homepage logo with creative doodles tailored to each occasion.

Bangladesh observes Independence Day on March 26, marking the declaration of independence in 1971.The declaration came in the wake of a brutal military crackdown by Pakistani forces on unarmed civilians on the night of March 25.

Following a nine-month-long Liberation War, marked by the sacrifices of three million martyrs and the suffering of around two lakh women, the country achieved its independence on December 16, 1971.
