Light to moderate rain likely on Eid day

Parts of Bangladesh will likely be battered by light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind on the Eid-ul-Azha today (Saturday).

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday predicted the rain at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

The same was forecast for one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over northern part of the country, in the next 24 hours commencing from 6:00 pm, said the regular weather bulletin.

The axis of monsoon trough was running through Rajsthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh, reports UNB.

One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay, it added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun rises at 5:28 am on Saturday in Dhaka.
