Two farmers were killed by lightning strikes in separate incidents in Dhamoirhat and Manda upazilas of Naogaon district on Thursday.
In Dhamoirhat upazila, Jalal Uddin, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, died on the spot when a thunderbolt struck him while he was working in his cucumber field amid rain in the morning, said Mokhlesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Dhamoirhat Police Station.
In Manda upazila, Pintu, son of a Muslim of Chakrampur village, fell unconscious when a thunderbolt struck him while he was working in his paddy field, reports UNB.
Later, he was taken to Manda Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead, said Masud Rana, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station.
