The Met Office said nor’wester may sweep over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet in the next 12 hours commencing 08:00 am on Thursday.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by a temporary Westerly or North Westerly Kalboishakhi storm in the divisions.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary Westerly or North Westerly Kalboishakhi storm with squalls speed 60-80 kph or more, is likely to occur at places over the five divisions, according to the Met office bulletin.
At this time, there may be lightning and hail at isolated places along with Kalboishakhi storm, reports UNB citing the bulletin.
According to the regular Met office bulletin, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi division with hail at isolated places.
Day temperature may fall by 1-2°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country
A trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
