An inspection team from Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has inspected chemical units of Bangladesh throughout a week.

The two-member OPCW delegation inspected the factories of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited in Savar and Rhymer Chemical Industries Limited in Valuka during the inspection since May 11 this month as a routine inspection work of the organisation.

The Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC) coordinated with the OPCW team during the whole visit.

After completing the inspection, the team met BNACWC chairman Lieutenant General S M Kamrul Hassan and acclaimed the Bangladesh government's initiatives and BNACWC's efforts to implement the Chemical Weapon Convention.

The inspection delegation left Dhaka on May 17 after their successful inspection, a press release from ISPR said on Sunday.
