Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will offer the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the Jatiya Eidgah ground at 8.30am on Saturday.
After offering the Eid prayers, the premier will exchange greetings with people from all walks of life, including foreign diplomats and educationists, on the occasion at the State Guest House Jamuna here at 10am, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibly said, reports BSS.
Tarique Rahman will first exchange greetings with the diplomats. Later, he will exchange Eid greetings with cabinet members, members of parliament, distinguished citizens, academicians, ulema and mashaikh, artists and writers, and senior government and private officials, as well as people from all sections of society.
After the programme, the Prime Minister along with his family members will offer ziarat at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city.
This is Tarique Rahman's first Eid celebration in the country after more than one and a half decades. He celebrated Eid in London for the past 17 years.
Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh with his family on December 25 last year and assumed office as Prime Minister after being elected in the 13th national election on February 12 this year.
