BNP backed candidate of Gazipur City Corporation polls Hasan Uddin Sarkar on Thursday announced a 19-point electoral manifesto for the upcoming GCC polls billed for May 15.
Reaffirming his commitment to take efficient efforts to resolve different problems of GCC, Hasan Uddin announced the manifesto in the morning at a press briefing held at his Auchpara residence in Tongi, according to UNB.
The 19-point manifesto includes: launching master plan of GCC urbanisation, removing water logging, providing safe water to the city dwellers, ensuring health care and safe food for people, launching housing projects for working class people.
The manifesto has also commitments on building a new city corporation office building, providing citizen services, tuning with other service providing organisations, bringing in positive impact in the education and transport sectors, enhancing public security with CCTV cameras, limiting pollution and ensuring proper waste management of the city.
Meanwhile, ruling Awami League backed candidate Jahangir Alam termed the manifesto as 'unrealistic' and claimed that BNP and its candidate was doing fraudulence with the people.
In the GCC election a total of seven mayoral candidates, 256 general councilors and 84 reserved-seat female councillor candidates are competing.
