Nurul elected new Chhatra Shibir president, Sibgatullah secretary

Nurul Islam Saddam has been elected as the central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir for the 2026 term, with Sibgatullah elected as the secretary general.

They were elected on Friday based on the votes of Shibir members at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon.

Chhatra Shibir said in Facebook post, "The election of the central president and selection of the secretary general of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir for the 2026 session have been completed. May Allah help us in performing the great responsibility of upholding the religion.”

The newly elected President Nurul previously served as the organisation's secretary general.

He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from the Department of Economics at Khulna University in the 2014-2015 academic year, and is currently studying for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Economics at Dhaka University.

The organisation's new Secretary General Sibgatullah was the former president of its Dhaka University wing. He also served as the office secretary of the central branch in the 2025 session.

Sibgatullah completed his studies from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research in Dhaka University, where he is currently pursuing his second Masters from the Department of Development Studies.
