Md Sayed bin Abdullah has been appointed as the prime minister’s special assistant on youth employment.

Sayed, who has spoken out on social media on various issues since the Awami League government, was appointed on a contractual basis to the Grade-2 position, bdnews24.com reports.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding his appointment on Thursday.

The post includes a condition of not maintaining any other profession, business or working relationship with any government, semi-government or private institution or organisation while serving in the position.

He will perform contractual duties in the post from the date of joining until the prime minister's term concludes or his contract is terminated subject to the prime minister’s satisfaction (whichever occurs first).

Sayed was seen in attendance during a cabinet meeting on the Farmers Card after the formation of the BNP government. The sighting drew criticism on social media for his lack of an official post.
