A student named Abdullah Siddiqui (23) was shot and killed during a clash in the Jigatola area of Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Abdullah was a student at Habibullah Bahar Degree College in the capital.
Abdullah was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with gunshot wounds, but was declared dead upon arrival.
Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, stated that the deceased's body has been kept in the morgue for an autopsy.
Sources from Dhaka Medical College Hospital reported that by 3:00 PM today, a total of 56 individuals with gunshot wounds had been brought to the hospital from various locations of the city. Out of these, 16 people have been admitted to the hospital, while the others were given initial treatment and released.
