Several hundred students from various schools and colleges have gathered at Dhaka’s ECB Chattar to stage protests against arrests and killings centring the quota reform movement.
They marched to the venue from the capital’s Matikata area shortly after 4pm on Friday.
The students chanted slogans including "We won't let our brother's blood go in vain," "There's fire in our blood," and "Why is our teacher in jail? We demand freedom."
A large number of police and Armed Police Battalion (APBN) members were stationed at ECB Chattar and the surrounding areas.
