The nine-time minister died at the age of 83 at Square Hospital on Monday, reports bdnews24.com.
His body was taken from the hospital to Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 am on Tuesday.
Tofail's remains left Dhaka aboard a Meghna Aviation helicopter at 12:57 pm, said Iftekharul Sadek, operations manager of the airline.
The veteran politician will be laid to rest beside his mother's grave.
