Two people, including a minor boy, were killed in separate lightning strikes in Netrokona and Sunamganj districts on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Arafat, 10, son of Abdus Salam of Tiyashree union of Madan upazila in Netrokona districts and Rimon Talukder, 20, son of Jahed Talukdar of Atgaon village in Shalla upazila of Sunamganj district, reports BSS.
According to local Union Parishad member Motahar Hossain, Arafat was struck by lightning around 6:30 am while on his way to his madrasah in Tiyashree union.
Shalla Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiqul Islam said Rimon was herding cows near Kalikota Haor, close to his village, when he was struck by lightning during a light drizzle around 6:30 am.
