A new platform of university teachers named 'University Teachers Link (UTL)' was unveiled on Saturday, aiming to uphold the dignity of public and private university teachers and continue the spirit of the July Mass Uprising.
The unveiling programme was held at TSC cafeteria of Dhaka University at 11:00 am.
The main theme of UTL is "Knowledge, Trust, Prestige, and Liberation".
Organisers stated that they will keep the platform free from political influence and will work to advance education, research, liberal thought, and national responsibility.
A central committee was announced at the programme, comprising both public and private university teachers. Dr Ataur Rahman, professor of the Department of Islamic History and Culture at Dhaka University, was announced as convener and Professor Dr Billal Hossain of the History Department at Jagannath University was made the member secretary.
