Bangladesh Navy, in a special drive, seized about 230,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth around Tk 115 million from Hnila union of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Sunday.
The operation was carried out based on secret information that an organised drug trafficking gang had stockpiled a large quantity of drugs in the Hnila area for sale and smuggling, reports UNB citing an ISPR press release.
Following the tip-off, a team from the Bangladesh Navy conducted a drive in the Rongikhali area of the upazila. During the operation, the team seized two white sacks from a suspected drug peddler’s den.
Upon searching the sacks, the Navy personnel recovered the Yaba tablets.
The seized Yaba tablets were later handed over to the Teknaf Police Station.
