Bangladesh are batting first in the first match of the two-match T20 series against the UAE.

The hosts won the toss and put Bangladesh in to bat first Sunday, reports UNB.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Sabbir Rahman are opening the innings for Bangladesh.

Nurul Hasan Sohan is leading the Bangladesh team in this series in the absence of the regular captain Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib is now playing in the Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the West Indies.

The series has been organised to help Bangladesh gear up for the New Zealand tri-series and the T20 World Cup in Australia next month.

Rangana Herath, spin bowling coach of Bangladesh, said the UAE tour is a great chance for the Bangladesh team to prepare well ahead of the World Cup.

The second match of this series will be played on September 27.

Bangladesh XI: Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain, Litton Das, Nurul Hasan (c), Mosaddek Hossain, Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
