Bangladesh women's national football team have confirmed their place in the final of SAFF Women's Championship for third consecutive time.

They achieved the milestone through winning the crucial semifinal against Nepal by 2-1 goals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, India on Wednesday.

Bangladesh made a shaky start in the match as the Nepalese side mounted a series of attacks on the Bangladesh defense from the very outset of the match.

In stoppage time, substitute Sagorika latched onto a brilliant pass from Shamsunnahar Jr and produced a composed finish inside the box to break Nepal’s resistance at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, bdnews24.com reported.

The goal triggered jubilant celebrations on the pitch and in the dugout as Bangladesh sealed a hard-fought victory.

Ritu Porna also found the net earlier in the match, as Bangladesh repeated the 2-1 scoreline of the 2024 final against Nepal on their way to another title shot.

Bangladesh began their title defence with an impressive 4-2 victory over Maldives women's national football team.
