India win SAFF Women’s Championship title for sixth time

India won the SAFF Women’s Championship title for the sixth time, beating Bangladesh by 3-1 goals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday.

But India restored their lead within 48 seconds of the restart before reclaiming the title of South Asian women's football's premier competition for the first time since 2019.

The defeat ended Bangladesh’s bid to add to their 2022 and 2024 titles, while India reclaimed the regional crown for a record-extending sixth time.
