England midfielder Jude Bellingham has been honoured with the prestigious 2023 Golden Boy award, acknowledging his outstanding performances since joining Real Madrid. The 20-year-old sensation outshone formidable contenders, Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala and RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, to claim the coveted title reserved for players under 21.

Bellingham's remarkable achievements on the field include emerging as the top scorer in La Liga, having found the net 10 times in just 11 matches. His scoring prowess extends to the Champions League, where he has notched up three goals in as many appearances.

The midfielder made a high-profile move to the Spanish capital from Borussia Dortmund in June, with a reported initial transfer fee of 103 million euros ($112 million).

Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Bellingham remarked, "I'd like to thank everyone that has been part of my journey so far at Birmingham, Dortmund, and now Madrid. It wouldn't be possible without them."

He continued, "Lastly and most importantly, my family, who give me the support, motivation, and love every day to keep striving. Now I have this prestigious award, I want to keep going. I want to keep pushing the limits of my potential and hopefully many more trophies to come."

The Golden Boy award, with its illustrious history, has been previously claimed by football luminaries such as Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Raheem Sterling, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and the Barcelona duo Pedri and Gavi.

In a double celebration for Real Madrid, the club's Colombian forward, Linda Caicedo, aged 18, secured the Golden Girl award, marking a promising recognition of emerging talent.
