High Court throws out writ petition challenging BCB election schedule, voter list

The High Court has dismissed a writ petition challenging the schedule and voter list for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors’ election, clearing the way for the polls to proceed.

A bench of Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty and Justice Md Asif Hasan passed the order on Wedesday.

According to BCB’s lawyer, there is now no legal obstacle to holding the Jun 7 election.

A total of 25 directors will be selected, including 23 through direct voting and two through nomination by the National Sports Council.

The BCB president will subsequently be elected by the 25 directors.
