India clinched their biggest Test victory by runs against England in the Rajkot Test, as they decimated the visitors by 434 runs on the fourth day of the match.

Ravindra Jadeja emerged as the hero for India, showcasing his all-round prowess with a phenomenal five-wicket haul in the second innings, complementing his earlier century in the match.

England's pursuit of a daunting 557-run target faltered as they collapsed for a mere 122 runs, succumbing to India's spin barrage led by Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav.

The day's play commenced with promising signs for England, as they aimed to restrict India's lead after the hosts amassed a commanding total of 430/4 before declaring.

However, their hopes were quickly dashed as India's batsmen, led by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan, wreaked havoc on the placid surface, piling up a lead of 556 runs before the declaration came from Rohit Sharma.

Jaiswal's audacious innings, marked by a stunning double century, left the English bowlers reeling as he equalled the record for the most sixes in an inning in Tests, showcasing his immense talent and determination. Sarfaraz Khan, too, contributed significantly with his aggressive stroke play, adding to England's woes.

Despite a glimmer of hope fueled by England's recent success in fourth-innings chases, the visitors floundered against India's spinners. Ravindra Jadeja's crafty bowling dismantled England's batting order, with key wickets falling rapidly. Jadeja's brilliance was complemented by Kuldeep Yadav and the return of R Ashwin, who joined the fray just before the final session.

England's batting lineup crumbled under pressure, with their missteps compounded by their inability to counter India's spin trio effectively. The familiar sight of sweeps turning into traps haunted England, with crucial wickets quickly falling.

Joe Root's valiant effort to anchor the innings was in vain as he, too, succumbed to Jadeja's guile. England's hopes dwindled further with each wicket, eventually culminating in a crushing defeat at the hands of the relentless Indian side.

As the final wickets tumbled, India celebrated a resounding victory, highlighting their dominance in the Test arena and underscoring the challenges faced by England in subcontinental conditions.
