Wicketkeeper-batsman Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan has earned a recall to Bangladesh’s T20 squad after nearly three years, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the team for next month’s Asia Cup in the UAE.

The same squad will also play the three-match T20 international series against the Netherlands in Sylhet, starting on Aug 30, reports bdnews24.com.

Sohan, 31, last featured in the format during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. His return adds depth to a batting order that has seen recent experiments with younger faces.

Litton Das will lead the 16-strong side, which blends established names with emerging talent.

Alongside experienced campaigners like Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, the selectors have kept faith in youngsters Tanzid Hasan and Tawhid Hridoy.

Shamim Hossain and Jaker Ali Anik keep their places, while all-rounders Mahedi Hasan and Saif Uddin offer balance to the squad.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed provide variety in the spin department.

Bangladesh squad: Litton Kumer Das (captain), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Saif Hassan, Tawhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali Anik, Shamim Hossain, Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shak Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Shaif Uddin.
