Mohammad Ali, managing director and chief executive officer of Pubali Bank, attended the programme as the chief guest. Nurunnahar Nimni reached Mount Everest's summit at 5:24 am (Nepal time) on May 27 this year, fourteen years after the last successful ascent by a Bangladeshi woman.

Pubali Bank has honoured mountaineer Nurunnahar Nimni, who is also the bank's principal officer, for bringing glory to Bangladesh by conquering Mount Everest, the highest summit in the world.

Pubali Bank sponsored both her Himlung Himal and Everest expeditions in Nepal, according to a statement.

The reception programme titled "Honouring the Summit Conqueror" was held at the auditorium of the bank's head office.

Mohammad Ali, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Pubali Bank, attended the programme as the chief guest.

Among those present on the occasion were Mohammad Esha, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Ahmed Enayet Monzur, Md. Shahnewaz Khan and Mohammad Anisuzzaman-the deputy managing directors of the head office. Sultana Sharifun Nahar, deputy managing director and head of principal branch, along with the bank's executives and senior female officials, were also present.

During the programme, Mohammad Ali, MD & CEO, presented Nurunnahar Nimni with a commemorative crest and a letter of appreciation. A documentary highlighting her mountaineering journey was also screened.

Nurunnahar Nimni reached the summit of Mount Everest at 5:24 am (Nepal time) on May 27, this year, 14 years after the last successful ascent by a Bangladeshi woman. She brought a new chapter of glory to the nation through this remarkable achievement.
