Sena Kalyan Insurance’s EPS drops 25pc in 2022
The general insurer declares 12pc cash divided

Sena Kalyan Insurance Company, a concern of Sena Kalyan Sangstha of Bangladesh Armed Forces, has reported a 25 per cent year-on-year fall in its annual profit in 2022, due to increase in number of shares after listing.
The general insurer’s earnings per share stood at Tk 2.86 for 2022, down from Tk 3.83 in 2021, the company said in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Despite dropping profit, the board of directors has recommended a 12 per cent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2022. In 2021, the company also disbursed 12 per cent cash dividend.
The final approval of the dividend will come during the annual general meeting scheduled to be held at 11:00am on May 9 through digital platforms. The record date is set on April 9.
The company has also reported NAV per share of Tk 20.17 and NOCFPS of Tk 4.45 for the year ended December 31, 2022 as against Tk. 26.99 and Tk. 8.89 respectively for the same period of the previous year.
The company said EPS has decreased from last year due to an increase in the number of shares.
Sena Kalyan Insurance Company is a concern of Sena Kalyan Sangstha of Bangladesh Armed Forces, which has already emerged as one of the most viable business outfits of Bangladesh.
The company made trading on the stock exchanges on November 7, 2021.
Its stock closed at Tk 52.20 on Tuesday.
