A total of 3,171 auto-rickshaws were registered across the country in January this year, according to official data.
Of them, only 20 received registration in Dhaka, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
A total of 30,967 auto rickshaws were registered in 2019 while the number was 21,638 in 2018, the transport regulator data showed.
