ASM Mohiuddin Monem receives best tax payer award

ASM Mohiuddin Monem, deputy managing director of Abdul Monem Limited and chairman of ServicEngine Limited, has been honoured with the best tax payer award by the government for the sixth consecutive year, says a press release. 

Mr Monem has praised this initiative taken by the government. He encourages everyone to submit both individual and institutional tax returns to support the government to increase the tax revenue that will lead the country to further development.

According to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) data, there are about four million TIN holders and in the last fiscal year around 2.2 million tax payers submitted their tax returns. The number of tax return submissions will grow at least three to four times if the tax rates are reduced keeping similarity with other developing countries, highlighted Mr Monem who supports the government initiatives such as income tax fair and related activities.

Mr Monem, listed as World’s Greatest Leader 2018-19 by URS-Asia One Magazine, is recognised as a Commercially Important Person (CIP). He has been honoured multiple times with the President’s Award and the National Export Trophy for his contribution to the IT sector of Bangladesh in alignment with Vision 2021 of Digital Bangladesh.

He is the youngest son of renowned industrialist Abdul Monem. He is also the Honorary Consul of Czech Republic in Bangladesh.
