Bangladesh Bank, BRAC Bank promote cashless transaction at Chuadanga Cattle Haat

BRAC Bank, as the lead bank, has organised an awareness programme for cattle farmers in Alamdanga Upazila, Chuadanga, under Bangladesh Bank’s nationwide cashless awareness initiative.

The programme, titled ‘Cattle Farmers Awareness Programme’, was held at Alamdanga Haat on 11 May 2026. It aimed to promote digital financial services among cattle farmers and local traders ahead of the upcoming Qurbani season, according to a media release. 

Key objectives of the initiative included encouraging digital transactions at cattle markets and expanding financial inclusion through formal banking channels. The strategy also facilitated account openings, highlighted agri-loan opportunities, and sought to ensure greater transparency and security in rural trade through cashless payments.

As part of the programme, more than 150 new cattle farmers expressed interest in opening bank accounts to conduct secure and convenient digital transactions during the upcoming Qurbani haat operations.

Panna Akter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Alamdanga; Dr. Shahabuddin, District Livestock Officer (DLO), Chuadanga; and S. M. Mahmudul Haque, Upazila Livestock Officer (ULO), Alamdanga, attended as distinguished guests at the programme.

From BRAC Bank, Abdur Rahim, Branch Manager, Chuadanga Branch; Dipak Chandra Das, Senior Manager, Merchant Acquiring; Raihanul Kabir, Senior Manager, E-commerce, Merchant Acquiring; Gazi Zonayet Hossain, Regional Coordinator, Agent Banking; and other senior officials attended the programme.
