Bank Asia holds 13th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting through digital platform

Bank Asia PLC convened its 13th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Sunday through a digital platform. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Chairman of the bank, according to a press release.

During the EGM, shareholders approved the key resolutions concerning the proposed acquisition of the Bangladesh operations of Bank Alfalah Limited. The transaction encompasses all associated assets, liabilities, rights, and obligations, and remains subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman Ms. Zakia Rouf Chowdhury; Directors Ms. Romana Rouf Chowdhury, Ms. Farhana Haq, Mr. Enam Chowdhury, Mr. Nafees Khundker, Mr. Sabeth Nayeem Choudhury, Ms. Farzana Khan, and Mr. Md. Ataur Rahman, ndc.

Mr. Sohail R. K. Hussain, Managing Director, along with members of the senior management team, and Mr. Zahid Hasan, Company Secretary (Acting), were also present at the meeting.

A significant number of shareholders joined the meeting virtually, reflecting strong engagement and participation.
