Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, has been awarded SME Banker of the Year – Bronze at the Qorus SME Banking Awards 2025.
Held at the Qorus Reinvent Forum in Vienna, the awards honour outstanding achievements and contributions in SME banking and spotlight innovation, impact, and transformation, according to a press release.
This accolade places Momen alongside industry leaders like Gold winner Okay Yildirim of QNB Türkiye and Silver winner Raymond Chui of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad and further cements BRAC Bank’s standing as a pioneer in SME banking.
The winners were determined through a rigorous process that combined public voting in 47 countries with evaluation by an expert jury panel.
Joining BRAC Bank in 2005, Momen became the Head of the SME Banking Division in 2017 and was promoted to Additional Managing Director in 2025.
Under his leadership, BRAC Bank has become a force in inclusive banking — driving access to finance, accelerating small business growth, and setting industry benchmarks across emerging markets, the release says.
Selim R. F. Hussain, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC Bank, said: “This global recognition is a proud moment not just for Momen but for Bangladesh. It underscores our deep-rooted commitment to inclusive SME banking — a vision he has relentlessly championed. We are proud to see his leadership honoured on a world stage, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the industry.”
