The number of car registration in the country witnessed a drastic fall in the first nine months of the current calendar year, according to an official data provided by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
A total of 8,456 cars were registered from January to September this year, while the number was 12,545 during the same period last year.
Of the total, 7,551 cars were registered in Dhaka alone, according to an official data provided by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
The BRTA data also disclosed that a total of 16,783 cars were registered in 2019.
Moreover, a total of 18,227 cars were registered in 2018 while the number was 21,959 in 2017, it added.
