Daraz, a leading online marketplace in the country has launched Daraz First Games - an innovative and immersive gaming platform offering access to a number of free-to-play casual games in a wide array of genres including racing, action, shooting and arcade.
The gaming platform aims to connect millions of Bangladeshis over online tournaments while they practice social distancing at home. DFG offers customers to win exciting prizes and vouchers of up to Tk 35,000 in the Daraz wallet.
Over the past few months, social distancing practices have encouraged an accelerated rate of digital adoption and prompted unprecedented growth in online and mobile gaming industry. Gaming apps have become popular sources of stay-at-home entertainment and platforms have witnessed spikes in user growth during the lockdown. In order to meet the increased demand for such entertainment among customers in Bangladesh, Daraz launched DFG in collaboration with Paytm First Games, one of the leading Indian gaming platforms.
The partnership with PayTM will allow Daraz to access the former’s superior technology and leverage their experience in the area of digital gamification.
“Our goal is to bring the best of global games for Daraz users and provide them with the latest and competitive formats. We recognise that there is a need for digital entertainment, and we want to ensure that Daraz users have easy access to it. We are confident that through this new venture we will be able to further support the development of the country’s technology industry” said Barish Khandaker, Head of Traffic Operations at Daraz Bangladesh.
Chief operating officer of Paytm First Games Sudhanshu Gupta said, "It is our mission to bring the most engaging and innovative games and experiences to mobile gamers. Mobile gaming has been growing in the South Asian region and we endeavour to partner with players who share the same mission. We are thrilled to partner with Daraz to launch a world-class gaming experience in Bangladesh and hope to replicate the same success with games like Ludo and eSports”.
Currently offering users access to 19 gaming titles, including Ludo, Ninja Duo and 5 in a row, DFG allows them to play tournaments with friends across the country and enter one-on-one challenges to win points and vouchers redeemable on Daraz.
Over the coming days, Daraz will increase the catalogue of games available on DFG and will launch a redemption centre through which users can exchange the points they have won for services.
