The Advisory Council has approved a proposal to include e-cigarettes in the list of prohibited imported goods under the Ministry of Commerce's import policy order.

The approval was granted at a meeting of the Advisory Council held at the Chief Advisor's Office on Thursday, presided over by Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus.

Following the meeting, the Cabinet Division announced the approval in a press release.

The press release stated that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Department of Health Services had proposed this, explaining that this step was taken to protect public health and the future generation by banning the import of all products related to e-cigarettes or electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS).
