Guardian Life delivers strong performance in claim settlement this year

Guardian Life Insurance Limited (GLIL) reported a 34 per cent increase in the insurance claims settlement in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.

In this quarter, the insurance service provider settled claims worth approximately BDT 129 crore, which is a 34 per cent increase compared to BDT 96 crore in the first quarter of 2024. Driven by the company’s strong commitment and operational efficiency, Guardian witnessed such significant improvement, according to a press release.

In the first quarter of this year, the insurance company settled death-related insurance claims worth BDT 77 crore, health-related claims worth BDT 39 crore, and paid BDT 13 crore in forms of policy maturity and other claims. For the same period of the previous year, Guardian Life settled death claims of BDT 60 crore, health claims of BDT 22 crore, and maturity and other claims at BDT 14 crore.

According to the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Guardian’s claim settlement ratio stood at an impressive rate of 97.69 per cent in 2024, positioning the company as one of the most trusted insurers in Bangladesh.

Noting the achievement, Sheikh Rakibul Karim, FCA, Additional Managing Director and  CEO (Acting)  of Guardian Life Insurance Limited, said, “Our priority remains on enhancing the customer experience and satisfaction. Currently, we settle 95 per cent of claims within three working days; however, we are working with an unwavering commitment to bring this down to just one day for improved service assurance.”

Currently, over 1.26 crore people are protected by the insurance coverage of Guardian, demonstrating the extensive reach of the insurer’s services.

Additionally, they are ensuring insurance services for employees of more than 450 local and multinational organizations. Besides, Guardian’s extensive healthcare network comprises about 500 partner hospitals nationwide, ensuring a seamless health claims experience for policyholders.

These milestones underscore Guardian’s commitment to ensure quality insurance service for individuals and organizations across the country, the release adds.
