The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Monday extended the deadline for submission of income tax returns for corporate taxpayers by one month.
In an order issued on Monday, the revenue authority said taxpayers other than individuals will now be able to file their returns for the 2025–2026 tax year until May 15, 2026, UNB reports.
The extension applies to all entities whose income year ended on June 30, 2025, according to the order signed under the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2023.
Earlier, the deadline for submitting these tax returns was set to expire on April 15, 2026.
With the latest decision, businesses and other eligible taxpayers have been given additional time to complete their filings.
The NBR said the order was issued under Section 334 (clause b) of the Income Tax Act, 2023, exercising its authority to revise deadlines in the interest of proper tax administration.
The move comes as part of ongoing efforts by the revenue board to streamline tax processes and ensure smoother participation in the tax system.
