Russia has formally invited Bangladesh to take part in the upcoming 7th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), aiming to discuss different issues including forging new ties.

The Russian authority said that the forum would act as a platform to forge ties with potential partners, sign investment agreements, and share perspectives.

The event will take place on September 5-8, 2022 in Vladivostok of Russia, according to a letter sent to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

The opening day of the forum will host the second International Tiger Forum, reads the letter. Bangladesh and Russia are expected to hold discussions on Arctic issues, said an official.

Russia hopes to increase investment in the Far East region if Bangladesh attends the event, said the official, adding that Bangladesh might take part in the mega function.

The Russian president along with heads of different states and governments, officials and business leaders, heads of major Russian companies, experts, scientists, and the media will attend the function.

The EEF 2022 will also feature business dialogues with leading partner countries.

The forum has evolved into the key platform for engagement aimed at creating new points of growth and opportunities for the investment in the Russian Far East as well as for providing a multi-faceted impulse to the collaboration with the economies of the Asia-Pacific region, according to the letter.

The participants and guests of the forum will see the return of the 'Far East Street' - a striking exhibition of the achievements.

The forum will also have a diverse sports programme attracting both professional and amateur sportsmen and women, while the cultural programme will see the launch of a festival, themed 'Seasons of Vladivostok' - open to both participants of the event and the residents of the city.
